You love coffee! We love coffee! It's a match made in heaven! Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world but what is the real cost of coffee? Let's explore some details about who grows our beans.
Indigenous people around the Equator grow coffee and often live in unsafe conditions deprived of even the most basic amenities such as electricity and proper education.
We want to know that we are not benefiting from such practices and we know you do too. This is why we buy only fair-trade coffee. It is in this way that you can be sure that your purchase is uplifting others.

Our coffee is roasted in batches of one to eleven pounds. This assures that not only must we roast more often, but you are going to have the freshest roast possible. We ship coffee the same day that we roast so that the proper time has elapsed for off-gassing of the beans. Does your coffee foam up when you brew it? That means fresh-roast.
Something about our history

We started our shop on the campus of Western Carolina University in 2001. We've had many changes since then with a variety of services to our local community. Bodega, juice bar, breakfast place, community gathering spot, and coffee roastery. These are just some of the things we've done here in the Southern Appalachians. Our commitment to community, the environment, and humanity has never wavered. We are currently roasting, bagging, and shipping coffee from Berry Mountain in Jackson County, NC. We also set up at the Jackson County Farmer's Market in beautiful Downtown Sylva. Visit us at the market!
